About Canada Stat Holidays
Statutory holidays in Canada are set province by province, and the rules people care about (whether a day is paid, who qualifies, how the pay is worked out) are buried in each government's employment standards. This site puts them side by side, for this year and next.
Dates are calculated from each holiday's rule (Family Day is the third Monday of February; Victoria Day is the Monday on or before May 24; Good Friday follows Easter), so they are right for any year. The statutory status, eligibility and pay rules for each province come from the government sources listed on its page, with the date they were last checked.
This is general information, not legal advice. Employment contracts and collective agreements often give more holidays than the law requires. If you spot a mistake, tell us and we will fix it the same day.
