Holiday pay
$160.00
$3,200.00 ÷ 20 days worked

If the holiday is a normal work day and you work it, you get your average daily wage plus 1.5 times your wage for hours worked, or your regular wage plus another day off with average daily wage. If it is not a normal work day and you work it, you get 1.5 times for hours worked.

Who qualifies

  • You must have worked at least 30 days for the same employer in the 12 months before the holiday.
  • You are not entitled if you were absent without consent on your last regular work day before or first regular work day after the holiday, or did not work the holiday when scheduled.
  • If the holiday is not a normal work day for you, you are only paid if you work it. With an irregular schedule, it counts as a normal work day if you worked that weekday in at least 5 of the 9 weeks before the holiday’s week.
