Is Canada Day a stat holiday?

Canada Day is a statutory holiday in Ontario, British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Quebec, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, Newfoundland and Labrador, Yukon, Northwest Territories, Nunavut and federally regulated workplaces. Everywhere else it is not a stat holiday, so employers do not have to give the day off with pay.

Canada’s national day, marking Confederation in 1867. In Newfoundland and Labrador July 1 is also Memorial Day.
